Review: Wyoming Wilde
Cassandra Wilde comes back to Cody, Wyoming, to the
ranch she lived in so many years ago. She has a single plan in mind: to sell at
once the estate of her father, the man who hurted her mother so much, that she
escaped far away.
But her plans collide with her father’s will and with Sage McKenna, the man who
has been her only friend and confidant. Even if between Cassandra and Sage
blooms the love – deep and tormented, that make them clash –, it’s a hopeless
love, because the two pursue incompatible goals: Cassandra wants the money for
her sister’s kidney transplant; Sage, on the other hand, without dollars, plans
to save the ranch at all costs...
A situation without exit? No, both protagonists will discover that love has an
immense power, stronger than a night storm on the mountain forests or a bull’s
herd on the Wyoming prairies.
“Wyoming Wilde” is the third book of the “Wild Wyoming Series” by Diana Hart
(team-name of Pam Hart and Diana Kirk). The other titles are “Unfriendly
Persuasion”, “Bad Medicine” and “Partners in Crime”.
It’s an enthralling, charming story, with sudden turns and skirmishes that make
the reader smile, her heart palpitate, her breathing hasten.
The characters are well rounded, each one with her personality, her unique
“voice”, her feelings and reactions likely. All of them, like Wayne the cowboy,
Lindsey the sister, Gerald the gallerist (and..., yes, Sir William the bull,
too), and mainly the protagonists, Cassandra and Sage, show a convincing soul’s
depth and a psychological liveliness that make them absolutely real. As much as
real are the blossoming of life and the swarming of activities in Wapiti Valley,
rich of life, of passion, of love.
